Whole Turkey

Pre-heat your oven to 160 deg C Fan Forced (180 deg C conventional oven). If using stuffing, stuff the bird at this time. Do not overfill the cavity. Rub either olive oil or softened butter on the skin at the top of the bird and on the drumsticks of the turkey, followed by salt and pepper. Place the turkey in a large oven dish and add either a cup of chicken stock or water to the bottom of the dish. Cover the turkey loosely with foil. Cook this turkey recipe for approximately 40 minutes per kilo.
